Google makes it easier for users to delete their location history and other data.

Tech giant Google has announced that the Android and iOS users will now be able to auto-delete their location history and activity data. This new feature will enable the users to get rid of their data in an easier way. Users will now see a new auto-delete controls in the Google app which will enable then to manage their data. Users just have to select the time limit for how long they want their activity data to be saved. Any data older than the set time limit will be deleted from their account. The company mentions that users will be able to set a time limit for how long their data can be saved from between 3 to 18 months. The company also claims that users should soon be able to see the auto-delete controls. Scientists develop app that may let users easily program any robot.

A smartphone app that allows a user to easily program any robot to perform a mundane activity, such as picking up parts from one area and delivering them to another, has been developed by scientists, including one of Indian origin. The app developed by researchers at Purdue University in the US could dramatically bring down the costs of building and programming mobile robots. The setup could also take care of household chores, they said. "Smaller companies can't afford software programmers or expensive mobile robots," said Karthik Ramani, from Purdue University. "We've made it to where they can do the programming themselves, dramatically bringing down the costs of building and programming mobile robots," he said. Facebook will pay users to track their phone activity via new "Study" app

Social networking giant Facebook has again started the program in which they use their phone via a new app called Study. This app will keep track of the apps installed on a user's smartphone and the time they spent on using these apps, their country and all the additional app data. Facebook, however, says that apart from this it will not see any specific content such as passwords, messages or the websites the user visits. The company also adds that the data collected from this will not be sold to any third party apps and will also not be used to target ads.  Facebook adds that participants who have been invited to the Facebook Study program install the Study app, give them permission and then use their phone as normal. All the registered users are then rewarded for taking part in the program. Extremely rare first Apple computer sold for Rs. 3.2 crore

An extremely rare Apple-1 computer was sold for roughly $471,000 (approx. Rs. 3.2 crore) at an an auction organized by London-based Christies. What's so special about the computer? Well, the auction house describes the machine as "the first personal computer sold with a fully assembled motherboard." Surely, collectors don't set limits. And definitely not for a piece of history like the Apple-1. The auctioned Apple-1, built by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, dates back to 1976. Interestingly, it comes housed in the bottom section of a briefcase, complete with a built-in keyboard. But why the briefcase? Elon Musk plans 'Neuralink' to connect your brain to computers.

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is backing a brain-computer interface venture called Neuralink, according to  The Wall Street Journal . The company, which is still in the earliest stages of existence and has no public presence whatsoever, is centered on creating devices that can be implanted in the human brain, with the eventual purpose of helping human beings merge with software and keep pace with advancements in artificial intelligence. These enhancements could improve memory or allow for more direct interfacing with computing devices. Musk has hinted at the existence of Neuralink a few times over the last six months or so. Google Maps adding 'Popular Dishes feature', here's what it means.

Looks like Google Maps team is preparing its way to compete with some online food services and aggregators like Yelp, Foursquare and others. The service that not only acts as a dominant app when it comes to directions and navigations, was recently spotted testing a new tab that let users see the popular dishes of a particular restaurant. This comes in addition to the several tabs showing the menu and photos of the particular eating joint, which were already there. The new ‘Popular dishes’ section not only shows just one dish but multiple dishes that according to user reviews are appreciated. As reported by 9to5Google, the dishes are shown with an image in a material design themed cards, tapping on which leads to more reviews and images of the dish.
