This smartphone maker has already begun working on 6G network

While most top smartphone-makers are aiming to launch their 5G-devices this year hoping that users will choose their handsets as and when 5G connectivity launches, there is a brand that has already started researching on ‘6G’ – LG. The South Korean smartphone maker has announced that it has placed a dedicated research center in Yuseong District of Daejeon, South Korea for 6G network technology. This doesn’t mean that LG is already working on 6G connectivity-supporting smartphone, However, this does give it a head start (sort of) in the market. The company has collaborated with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology for 6G “The establishment of the 6G research center, we will strengthen the next-generation mobile communications technology to lead global standardization and secure new business creation opportunities,” said Park II-Pyong, Chief Technology Officer, LG Electronics. This brain training app can boost attention, concentration

A team of researchers at the University of Cambridge has developed a brain training app that can improve concentration against daily distractions that people face in a connected world. The team demonstrated that playing the game app called 'Decoder' on an iPad for eight hours over one month improved attention and concentration. This form of attention activates a frontal-parietal network in the brain, said the researchers from the Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience Institute at the University of Cambridge. "We've all experienced coming home from work feeling that we've been busy all day, but unsure what we actually did," said Professor Barbara Sahakian from the Department of Psychiatry. For complex tasks, we need to get in the "flow" and stay focused, she added in the study published in the journal Frontiers in Behavioural Neuroscience. IBM Develops Fingernail Sensor That Uses AI to Track Patient Health, Disease Progressions.

IBM researchers have developed a first-of-a-kind "fingernail sensor" prototype that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to monitor and analyse human health as well as disease progression. The wearable, wireless device continuously measures how a person's fingernail bends and moves, which is a key indicator of grip strength. Although skin-based sensors can help capture things like motion, the health of muscles and nerve cells, and can also reflect the intensity of a person's emotional state, these can often cause problems, including infection with older patients. But the new system uses signals from the fingernail bends such as the tactile sensing of pressure, temperature, surface textures. "Our fingernails deform - bend and move - in stereotypic ways when we use them for gripping, grasping, and even flexing and extending our fingers. Official Apple Music Twitter account uses an Android phone to tweet.

On several occasions celebrities and Android smartphone brands have been trolled for using an iPhone to promote an Android phone on Twitter. Now it seems Apple has been caught on the wrong foot. The social media team handling the official Twitter account of Apple Music has been caught using an android phone while replying to a tweet of Singer Ariana Grande. The tweet posted was first spotter by YouTuber Marques Brownlee . The tweet that which can be still found on the official Twitter account of Apple Music has already received over 4,500 retweets and 28,600 likes. The official Twitter app doesn’t reveal the operating system that has been used for particular tweet. There are third party Twitter apps like Twidere Fenix, Beeter and others which reveal this information. Bengaluru: Cyber attackers will use more sophisticated tools in 2019 to take advantage of the changing technology landscape and prey upon evolving corporate technology environments especially Cloud, cyber security firm Trend Micro has said. Tired of the same old, text-based DMs? Good news, then: Instagram now lets you send voice messages. Instagram, the popular photo-sharing app quietly added a feature that lets you share short audio messages with friends. If you've ever used voice messaging on Facebook Messenger, this will feel familiar: Hold the microphone button down, record a short message and send as part of a chat. It's a pretty standard implementation of the idea, but Instagram does add it's own twist: If you don't want to hold the microphone button, you can simply open your DMs and hold your phone to your ear -- an quiet beep will sound and whatever you say next will automatically be recorded. You'll still have to look down at your phone and tap on the send icon, however.The new feature works on both iOS and Android devices. Google confirms Allo app shutdown in March 2019.

Google has announced to shut down its Allo messaging app and focus on its Messages app. The company in a blog post said that the app will continue working through March 2019 with users having the option to export their chat history. Currently, the main focus of Google is on the Messages. It has already received some of the key features of Allo like Smart Reply, GIFs and desktop support. It aims to become a one stop chat and messaging solution for phone users. "Earlier this year we paused investment in Allo and brought some of its most-loved features-like Smart Reply, GIFs and desktop support-into Messages. Given Messages' continued momentum, we've decided to stop supporting Allo to focus on Messages," Google VP of Consumer Communications Products Matt Klainer said.
